About BigTime Volleyball Academy

Precision. Growth. Excellence.

Founded in 2026, BigTime Volleyball Academy (BVA) was established with a singular vision: to redefine volleyball mentorship through a culture of "Volleyball for All." Our journey began in the heart of Vancouver West—serving the Arbutus and Osler communities—and has since expanded into the vibrant athletic landscape of Richmond.

The BVA Difference: Excellence Meets Inclusion

At BVA, we believe that elite-level coaching and community inclusivity are not mutually exclusive. Our unique training DNA is led by a founder with a background as a professional Top League athlete and a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. We bridge the gap between high-performance sports and community well-being by merging international technical discipline with a supportive & community spirit.

Our Core Pillars

  • Technical Mastery for All Ages: We utilize high-precision, pedagogical methods to ensure every student—from a 8-year-old beginner to a competitive teen.

  • Adaptive & Lifelong Athletics: BVA is a pioneer in local inclusive sports, offering specialized programming such as Senior Light Volleyball and Para-Inclusion (Sitting Volleyball) to ensure that physical barriers never prevent anyone from playing.

  • Multicultural Connection: As a trilingual academy (English, Cantonese, and Mandarin), we serve as a cultural bridge, helping new immigrant families integrate into the local sports community through a shared passion for the game.

  • Character & Grit: Beyond the court, we focus on "BigTime" character—developing the discipline, tactical intelligence, and teamwork that students carry into their academic and personal lives.

From Hong Kong to Canada:
The BigTime Story

BigTime Volleyball Academy (BVA) was founded by a coach who believes that volleyball is more than just a game—it’s a pathway to excellence.

Top Legacy of Success

Before establishing BVA in Canada, our founder built a formidable reputation in the competitive volleyball circuit of Hong Kong. With years of experience coaching at elite levels, our coach led numerous teams to championship titles and earned prestigious coaching awards for their tactical brilliance and player development.

Bridging Two Worlds

Having experienced the intensity and precision of Asian volleyball and combining it with the dynamic strategies of Canadian play, our founder recognized a unique opportunity. BVA was created to bridge these two worlds.

We bring the disciplined, technical foundations of Hong Kong/Asian volleyball and integrate them with the power and creativity of the Canadian game.

Our Philosophy

At BigTime Volleyball Academy, our philosophy is rooted in the belief that elite-level mentorship should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their starting point. We bridge the gap between high-performance sports and community well-being by integrating international technical discipline with a supportive, family-oriented culture.

Our Mission & Vision

At BigTime Volleyball Academy, our mission is to provide professional-grade volleyball coaching that is accessible to all. We bridge the gap between high-performance athletics and community well-being through three core commitments:

  • Professional Mentorship for All: We apply award-winning, pedagogical methodologies to ensure every participant—from youth beginners to seniors and para-athletes.

  • Global Technical Integration: We leverage our international Top League experience to merge disciplined, high-tempo play styles with Canadian strategic power, giving our athletes a unique competitive edge.

  • Community & Character Building: We cultivate leaders by instilling the "BigTime" values of discipline, grit, and humility, fostering a supportive environment that reflects the multicultural spirit of the communities we serve.
