Our Coach’s Story
At the heart of BigTime Volleyball Academy is a legacy of elite performance and a passion for teaching the game at its highest level. Our Director and Head Coach brings over a decade of championship experience from the competitive courts of Hong Kong to the growing volleyball community here in British Columbia.
A Career Defined by Excellence
Before transitioning to the sidelines, our coach was a dominant force on the court. A 4-time Hong Kong Representative and a 10+ years veteran of the Hong Kong A1 Top League, he reached the pinnacle of domestic play as an A1 League Champion. His talent earned him a selection to represent Hong Kong in the Asian Men’s Volleyball Cup, competing against the finest athletes in the region.
Throughout his playing career, leadership was a defining trait. As the Captain of the Hong Kong Baptist University Men’s Volleyball Team, he led his squad to a Top 4 finish in the HK Universities Competition and was honored as the 2017-2018 Most Valuable Player (MVP).
From Elite Athlete to Championship Coach
With over 10 years of coaching experience, our coach has mastered the art of translating elite-level skill into actionable mentorship for youth athletes. In Hong Kong, he led secondary school teams to multiple Championship titles and secured a Top 16 finish in the prestigious Inter-School Elite Tournament—the most competitive youth circuit in the city.
The Global Vision for BVA
Now a Canada Development Coach, he is bridging the gap between Asian technical precision and Canadian power.
By founding BVA, he is dedicated to sharing this international wealth of knowledge with students in Vancouver. His goal is simple: to help every athlete find their own "BigTime" moment through the same grit and dedication that defined his career.
